Leonid Delberg

Chairman and CEO

Leonid Delberg joined BGS Industrial Management Consulting GmbH in 1992 as a Senior Business Development Manager and founded the Department for Cashless Payment Systems. As a specialist for the CIS markets and the banking and IT-business, he successfully developed the Smart Card operations and implemented various smart card solutions for banks and other financial institutions. In 1997 BGS Smartcard Systems AG was founded and he was promoted to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the entity which has since then become one of the leading Smart Card based solutions providers.
Prior to joining BGS, Leonid Delberg was Chief Technology Officer and Board Member of an American Bank (First Commercial Bank Poland) which pioneered the banking business in Poland in order to develop and maintain western banking standards. From 1989 to 1990 he worked as Managing Director for a leading Austrian IT-Networking Company.

Prior to that, Leonid Delberg was Product Manager for Austro-Olivetti and Chief Engineer at the Lemberg Scientific and Research Institut for Automation. He was born in 1946 in Odessa/Ukraine and received a Masters degree in Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Lemberg/Ukraine.
